This is going to be a bit of a brain dump...be prepared...
My daughter just finished her second year of college. My son graduates in two weeks and goes off to college in the fall. With this realization, and an atypical hardship last fall, I've started a new phase in life: trying to live frugally, naturally and more healthy. I've been working on couponing and stockpiling the pantry, in the off chance that my children decide to move home and stay here forever, or in the off chance that something happens to me and I am unable to provide for the house. I've also started working on living more naturally for health purposes.
I have concurrent autoimmune disorders, fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis, as well as a condition known as Chiari Malformation, where basically, the back part of my brain has been slowly slipping into my brain stem. I don't get around so well, and I've been reading a lot about more holistic treatments and how food can affect health. My son also suffers from severe asthma, and I have always tried to keep the house as clean as I can, without exacerbating his asthma from chemical cleaners.
As a teenager, I would never have been caught dead without makeup and my hair done. I've always been a bit of a girlie girl in that respect, I guess. I sew, and make a lot of my own clothes, which is both a blessing and a curse; I have great fashions that cost pennies on the dollar, but I also have closets full of clothes... My beauty routine was once very expensive. But, since I have been sick, my beauty routine has kind of gone by the way side, in favor for just day to day survival.
Several years back, I was a total career woman, working mad hours and focusing on my job. Now, I am a stay at home mom, doing my grad work online, and trying to keep a comfortable house. These are my experiments and trials...
